A Message from The Midwife Center During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Dear Friends of The Midwife Center,

We realize many of you are receiving emails from organizations and businesses regarding their plans as we all do our best to deal with the developing situation surrounding the coronavirus. We also want to continue to assure our clients, friends, partners, and supporters that we continue to monitor the situation to be sure we are doing our part to limit exposure and minimize the possible spread of the COVID-19.

The Midwife Center continues to be open for services. However, we are taking serious measures to limit the number of people in our building, including rescheduling non-urgent appointments, limiting support people and visitors, moving all of our classes, orientations and behavioral health visits to an online platform, and giving our staff work from home options. We are also canceling With Woman Fridays for March 20th. If you were planning to come this Friday, please feel free to call our office at 412-321-6880 to see about scheduling an appointment. We look forward to offering additional appointments in the future to be sure that we can see everyone who wants to come to TMC for care.

We continue to screen all clients and visitors of possible symptoms and exposure before coming into the building as well as continuing the additional cleaning and sanitation efforts recommended by the CDC.

We encourage our community to continue to look for updates from the Allegheny Health Department and CDC, such as the prevention guidelines issued by the CDC as well as other resources for managing health and wellness during this challenging time.

We are grateful that the staff of TMC continues to be well and we wish that for all of you. Please continue to take care and be in touch if you have any questions.

Warmly,

Christine Haas, Executive Director and Emily McGahey, MSN, CNM, Acting Clinical Director
