Client Update Letter 11.17.2020

Dear TMC clients,

We want to bring to the attention of all our clients the currently rising cases of Covid-19 in our area. We are sending this letter with some reminders about our policies and to ask your assistance in keeping both our pregnant clients, their families, and TMC staff illness-free.

Unfortunately, the evidence is showing that pregnant women are more at risk of severe illness and hospitalization if they become sick with Covid during pregnancy.  We would like to refer you to the CDC information for pregnant and breastfeeding people and their families here: You Are Pregnant, Breastfeeding, or Caring for Young Children | COVID-19  as well as the PA Department of Health Coronavirus FAQ page here: COVID-19 Fact Sheet

TMC asks that:

  • Each family to strongly consider avoiding group gatherings/events or going to unmasked areas 2 weeks prior to an in-person visit at TMC or before your estimated due date. We understand that the holidays are coming up and this may be difficult for many families, but the research shows that small group gatherings are often where people are becoming exposed to Covid.
  • As we enter the winter months and the risk of cold/flu illnesses increases along with Covid, please remember to call our office before your appointment if you or someone in your home are sick or have been diagnosed with the flu or Covid. We will likely need to reschedule you or see you virtually.
  • You wear a mask that covers both your face and nose when you are in the building for the entire time. Please be aware that we may ask you to change to a better fitting mask during your visit or your labor.
  • You do not bring children to TMC. We know this can be difficult for many families so please contact our staff if you have an emergency situation with childcare prior to arriving at your appointment so we can evaluate options for your family.

We appreciate your continued support as we try to keep TMC safe and healthy for all birthing families. If you have any questions or need further information please call 412-321-6880 and select option ‘6’ to speak with one of our nurses.

Be well!
