Before joining The Midwife Center in January 2025 as Community Engagement Coordinator, Emily Fear worked for over twelve years as a public librarian, serving library patrons of all ages throughout Allegheny County.
A Southwestern PA native, she attended Chatham University for her undergraduate degree and received a Master's in Library and Information Science from University of Pittsburgh in 2012. She is a passionate advocate for equitable community access to material and information resources. In addition to her work within the public library, she has volunteered her time to Western PA Fund for Choice, OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring, Girls Rock! Pittsburgh, and other local grassroots organizations focused on community-building and mutual aid.
In her free time, she loves adventuring with her kiddo, obsessively listening to audiobooks, weird craft projects, collaborating on community events and spending as much time outside as possible during the nice months.
