Sarah started at The Midwife Center as a Client Service Associate in January 2013. She quickly picked up on the important role that the birth center played for the community in Pittsburgh, and consequently stepped up her investment as the Client Service Manager in June 2013. In addition to typical managerial duties, she also focused on building her medical interpretation skills to better assist our Spanish-speaking clients, as well as establishing TMC as a field instruction site for University of Pittsburgh's Social Work program. Learning more about the midwifery model and the barriers that many people continue to face in accessing quality health care compelled her to enroll in the Graduate School of Public Health at Pitt for the Fall 2016 semester.
In January 2017, Sarah accepted a part-time role at TMC as the Administrative Coordinator. She considers herself a nerd for data, especially when it comes to translating good research into effective practice that can benefit the Pittsburgh community. In this position, Sarah will facilitate educational services for both clients and students, help track outcomes for TMC clients to assure quality care delivery, and continue serving clients directly as a part of the front office staff.
