Shannon Williams

Shannon is a nurse at The Midwife Center that you may run into in the office, on the phone, during labor and delivery, or at a postpartum visit. She has 10 years of experience as a birth doula with Birth Doulas of Pittsburgh, and three years as a postpartum doula. While working for two years at Magee as a labor and delivery nurse, she became a Certified Lactation Counselor. She loves working with families as they transition from pregnancy through childbirth, and is passionate about breastfeeding and postpartum education.

Shannon had her first child at The Midwife Center in 1998 when it was located on Baum Blvd, and became an employee in January 2017. She describes the empowering care she received during her pregnancy and birth as life-changing, and has been passionate about the midwifery model of care ever since.
