Simone Peterson

BSN, RN, IBCLC

Since the first time witnessing a baby’s birth at the age of 7, Simone has been fascinated with and drawn to the world of birth and postpartum. She graduated nursing school at Carlow University in 2009 and spent 9 years in the Midwest as a labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) nurse in hospital and aside a midwife at home births. Simone became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in 2016 and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2021. In her former work, she also taught classes to nurses regarding ways of best supporting birthing persons during a natural/unmedicated delivery, and involving lactation, understanding the basics.

In her spare time, Simone can be found rummaging through her yarn to crochet something, choreographing a dance routine, organizing/tidying up all sorts, and reading an imaginative novel. Simone and her family returned to the Pittsburgh area in 2021, and she is eager to support families at The Midwife Center as they welcome their new babies into the world and being by their side through their lactation journeys.
