Postpartum Calls

In 2008, TMC began dedicating nurse time to make postpartum phone calls to every first-time mother and mothers in need of additional support. These phone calls, made over a six-week (and sometimes longer) period, allow a TMC nurse and lactation consultant to help new mothers with breastfeeding, discuss nutrition/safety issues, screen for postpartum depression and provide referrals as needed. Nearly 1,300 postpartum phone calls were made to our clients in 2013.
