Do you own or work at a bakery? Are you an amateur who loves to bake for family and friends? We're excited to announce that The Midwife Center for Birth & Women's Health's 12th annual fundraiser party and cake contest, Let Them Eat Cake, will be Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Pittsburgh Opera!
The contest and event, which will attract 400+ cake lovers plus the best professional and amateur bakers and decorators in the Pittsburgh area, will once again support safe, satisfying reproductive care for individuals and their families, including those without insurance.
This year's contest theme
With the opening of our expanded center in March, The Midwife Center has become the largest birth center in the country. In the spirit of realizing a big, beautiful vision, the theme of Let Them Eat Cake 2017 is...
mas·ter·piece
– a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship.
– an artist’s or craftsman’s best piece of work.
– synonyms: pièce de résistance, chef-d’œuvre, masterwork, magnum opus, finest/best work, tour de force
That's right, we'll be asking bakers and decorators to enter fabulously creative and delicious cakes based on masterpieces in art!
I want to enter a cake! What do I do now?
Stay tuned over the next month or two for more information about the theme, contest rules and guidelines, and how to enter. In the meantime, if you have any questions about Let Them Eat Cake please feel free to contact:
