We did it! Our $3.8 million campaign is complete

News

We are thrilled to let you know that The Midwife Center's Transformation, Metamorphosis, Change campaign is officially finished! After being approved for two grants within the last month, we have exceeded our campaign goal of raising over $3.8 million to transform reproductive care for individuals and their families.

Thank you to everyone who supported this historic campaign and who cheered us on while we built the largest birth center in the nation and worked to expand programs and services. We would like to give a special thanks to our staff, board, campaign committee, and volunteers, as well as Campaign Chair Cecile Springer, who confidently led our campaign to its successful completion.

Thank you, as well, to the many individuals, foundations, businesses, and others who generously supported this campaign and helped us exceed our goal. We could not have done this without you.

Through our Transformation, Metamorphosis, Change campaign, The Midwife Center:

  • Built the largest birth center in the nation, including beautiful new birth suites, water birth tubs, new appointment rooms, a classroom, an elevator and more.
  • Expanded all of our services lines, launched our new behavioral health and wellness services, and expanded information and resource support to individuals and families.
  • Received some of the largest grants in the history of our organization, including the $1 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program Commonwealth grant.
  • Had the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with our community

  • Received excellent press coverage in the Post-Gazette, 90.5 WESA, Tribune Review, KDKA, and more. Visit the History page for links to these stories.

What's next?
Thanks to the final funds raised in the campaign, we will be able to complete the transformation of The Midwife Center with renovations to our original building later this year. These renovations will allow us to reconfigure the former front office for phlebotomy and other nurse services, convert the former waiting room into a beautiful and spacious behavioral health and wellness room, and update other rooms for more services in the future. These services are an important part of The Midwife Center’s overall plan to provide quality, accessible, and comprehensive care.

The renovations will also include updates to the flooring and painting in the original building to ensure a more cohesive and comfortable space throughout our entire center.

Stay tuned for more updates about new classes and services. Check out our class calendar for our current offerings, including our new Prenatal Wellness Group on select Monday evenings in June and July.
